White Data Center Inc. (Headquarters: Bibai City, Hokkaido, CEO: Shinichi Ijichi, hereinafter referred to as “Our Company”) acquired Japanese eel farming license in October last year, making us the first in Hokkaido, and will begin the Japanese eel farming business on January 12, 2024.

Our Company has been considering the eel farming business as an energy recycling business which uses waste heat from IT equipment as a heat source. We acquired Hokkaido’s first “Eel Farming Permit” from Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and decided to start farming business in Bibai City, Hokkaido.

Since we will use the snowmelt water for the farming, we will develop it as a new Bibai and Hokkaido product under the brand name “Yuki Unagi” (trademark no. 2023-72075).

We will put 3,500 eel in the pond at present time and we will gradually expand the scale of farming, aiming to ship 13,000 eel (3.2 tons) within this year. By expanding the eel farm in this year, we are planning to have more shipments on next year, 10 times more than this year.
